Tom Stoppard’s New Play Rocks Madrid

Theater & Dance — By on February 22, 2010 10:25 pm

El Matadero will be showing Rock ‘n’ Roll, the new play by Tom Stoppard, from February 24th through March 14th. It has been a huge success both in England and the U.S. and promises to exhibit the historical conscience and stimulating dialogue that characterizes Stoppard´s work. The play begins during 1968´s Prague Spring and ends with the fall of the Berlin Wall, thus recounting an intense chapter of European totalitarianism and its symbolic antagonist, rock music. Playwright of the classic play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead and author of numerous film scripts including Shakespeare in Love, Stoppard is a talent that is not to be missed. Tuesday´s through Saturday´s at 20:00 p.m. and Sundays at 18:00 p.m., tickets are 22 euros (25% off on Wednesdays).
