Teatro Real Madrid: L’arbore di Diana
From March 17th to the end of the month head to the opera for L’arbore di Diana. According to Teatro Real, this 18th-century opera is a “delicious” story: “Diana, goddess of chastity, has in her garden a tree that bears fruits of extraordinary size. If her nymphs have been chaste, the fruits shine, but if any of them has sinned, the fruits turn black, fall from the branches and create terrible blows. But the god of love can’t consent to such a severe law, and he enters the garden disguised as a woman.” Music by Vicente Martín y Soler and libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte, it’s a new production of the Teatro Real in conjunction with Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona. So far, none of the shows have sold out, which might be a bad sign. However, it does mean that there is still a decent chance to get tickets. Tickets range from 17 to 156 euros. 90% discount with Carnet Joven – those tickets are distributed 90 minutes before the show starts. Metro: Opera.
