If after a visit to the Palacio Real or the Plaza de España you want to stroll through some small streets in a pretty non-touristy neighborhood and shop, this is a good place to go.

Tucked away on the small street of Conde Duque lies the small t-shirt shop, La Tipo. They carry the occasional apron or sweatshirt but pretty much they only have t-shirts. Don’t worry, they’re cool t-shirts, with Spanish slogans in many sizes and colors. These are not tourist t-shirts that say things like, “someone I know went to Spain and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.” They are more the type of thing to be worn with a little bit of attitude and a sense of humor.

They will set you back about 30 euros but there is a sale section where everything is around 22. During the colder months they like to keep the door closed so you have to ring the bell, but if the lights are on, someone is there.
