Shopping Madrid: Casa Hernanz

Casa Hernanz

Calle de Toledo 18
9am-1:30pm, 4:30pm-8pm Monday-Friday
10am-2pm Saturday
Metro: La Latina or Sol

For those of you who have lived in Madrid for a while or for any of those visiting during the summer months, you’ll find that it’s during this season when women of all shapes and sizes start sporting the famous Spanish Espadrilles. Well if you’re looking for quality when it comes to this shoe, you’ll have to find the non-descript Casa Hernanz store. Because if you aren’t actively looking for it, it’s possible you could walk past the store and have to double back on youself.

The shoes here are made by hand in this long-standing store, which has been run by the Hernanz family for five generations. Although there are many stores around with espedrilles in the windows, this is the highest quality you’ll find when it comes to the lightweight and relatively inexpensive shoe.

We do recommend you try to beat the lines come the summer months – so get there early!!!
