peSeta – Young Madrid Clothing Designers

Love, Love, Love

If you’re like me you never fathomed a successful fusion of the creative and the traditional – I’ve just been proven wrong.

There is only one peseta store located in Madrid which offers one-of-a-kind items handcrafted with “love, love, love.” Peseta products are also sold in stores around the world including Paris, Amsterdam, New York, and for the rest of us — online at peseta.org.

Whether it’s items for the home or accessories like purses and pencil cases, they can be found at peSeta. The whimsical design and obvious care that goes into all of the products are wonderful. Every item has its own charming personality, like the limited edition Mixínyeraungatuperguapu tote bag (60 euros), which is covered with adorable paintings of kittens, or the salmonete pencil case (22 euros) that’s decorated with drawings of aquarium fish that will not only take you back to your childhood but will make you want to stay there.

PeSeta loves animals. Nearly every item is adorned with a house pet or farm animal. But that’s not the only engaging design choice made by the designer. Many of the smaller coin purses combine unlikely prints to create results that are more than pleasing.

The plaid, polka-dotted and floral topin design (25 euros) combines multiple feminine retro prints that evoke images of silver screen stars from Audrey Hepburn to Marilyn Monroe.

It’s no surprise that some items (like the colorful matte fans and striped tablecloths) are gone; they were pieces of art in and of themselves.

We can only take consolation in knowing that they’re adding beauty to someone’s life.

Viewing the Peseta website is a pleasure in and of itself. The backgrounds of the site are decorated with various collages of kitsch-y items like pandas, cartoons and candy.
Fabulous items, lovely aesthetics – it’s clear that at peSeta, there’s just no going wrong.
