May Concerts in Madrid

Coming off of a month of live music in Madrid like April is tough to top and while May isn’t packed with the rock legends that April had, it does provide an eclectic mix of performers and sounds that is sure to grab your attention. Here is your May ConcertMAP:

Hola A Todo El Mundo 5/5 – Sala Sol: Join this Spanish indie/folk group as they celebrate their CD presentation party and perform as part of FESTIMAD. The group has received a lot of attention of late and is riding a wave of hype that has them on the cusp of big things.

Rufus Wainwright 5/5 – Teatro Circo Price: Rufus Wainwright is an incredibly gifted musician who is constantly searching for new ways to evolve musically. He will be bringing his musical craftsmanship to Circo Price for a can’t miss performance.

Madison Cano 5/5 – La Escalera de Jacob:  Madrid local favorite, Madison Cano, is sure to fill the cave of La Escalera de Jacob not only with loyal fans, but also with her folk-pop,  melodic melodies, and sensational voice.

The Unthanks 5/6 – Sala Heineken: English folk group, The Unthanks, will roll into Madrid to show off what has made them one of the most successful folk acts to come out of England.

Wax Tailor 5/8 – Sala Caracol: This French hip-hop/electronic composer provides beats that are truly unique.

We Have Band 5/12 – Sala Ramdall:  Making a stop in Madrid to support their new album, WHB, these London kids know how to put on a show. Expect a stellar dance-pop scene.

Benjamin Biolay 5/13 – Sala Heineken: One of the most distinguished French musicians of the last decade, Biolay combines deep lyrical compositions to create a sound all his own. He is on tour in support of his latest release, La Superbe.

Suburban Kids With Biblical Names 5/19 – CBA: The fourth edition of CBA’s Frontera Circulo closes with this Swedish duo’s clever pop tunes.

Gogol Bordello 5/21 – La Riviera: The always entertaining gypsy-punk band gives us an opportunity to catch one of the most distinct live shows around. Get ready to fill up on their Eastern-European influenced gypsy tunes.

Jamie Cullum 5/26 – La Riviera: The charismatic British jazz/pop artist is set to perform one of his intense live shows at Madrid’s La Riviera.

Coco Rosie 5/31 – Teatro Circo Price: The sister duo of Bianca and Sierra Casady have garnered much attention over the years. Their spin on folk music promises to give audiences their money’s worth.
