Now the metro does more than offer underground transit - it offers underground style. Tonight and tomorrow (the 20^th and 21^st of Feb) at 19:00, Chamartin station will be converted into a locust of fashion.

In addition to commuters scurrying to and fro you'll see long-legged models catwalking down the runway.

The event, which presents itself as an alternative to Pasarela Cibeles, is called "Pasarela OFF" – a showcase for up-and-coming designers such as: Hoet, Laurin 13, Yiyí Gutz, Suite 223, Divina Providencia, Elisa Madina, Eugenio Loarce, Loolah, Una y Otra, Ojalá, Celina Martín and Vanessa Soria Lima .

The metro was chosen for its off-beat, edgy appeal and has been the venue of choice in recent year for many other cultural events such as flamenco performances. Stay tuned for Shakina Blake’s review tomorrow.
