I’m Not a Tourist Fair for the Madrid Expat Community

For all you expats or foreigners who are in the midst of prolonged stay in Madrid, be sure to check out the ¨I’m Not a Tourist¨ fair tomorrow, June 12th, from 11 a.m. to 18 p.m. Apart from being a great space for networking with and meeting new people, the event offers an impressive program of activities, all of which one can sign up for online. The aim of the fair is to bring Madrid’s international population together, and offer helpful resources in this wonderful city. Busy parents, fear not, there is even a ¨Kid’s Room¨ where you can leave your children in good hands and enjoy the ¨grown up¨ activities on your own.

The Hatha Yoga Workshop from 11.15 a.m. until 12.15 p.m. will be held in Spanish (so you can practice!) and will explore the benefits at the roots of yoga. Cost: 10 euros

The Flamenco Workshops held from 12.45 p.m. until 13.30 p.m. and from 15.15 p.m. until 16.00 p.m. are ideal for those curious about this traditional Spanish dance, who maybe don’t have the gut to seek out a class with more experienced Spaniards. Cost: 15 euros

The Tapas Workshop is sure to be a hit, I mean, who wouldn’t want to learn about authentic Spanish gastronomy and nibble on some tasty snacks? Cost: 15 euros

Other events will include a live flamenco concert, stand-up comedy, presentations, conferences and a chance to win some Spanish goods through a couple raffles. Tickets will be 10 euros at the doors.

Whether you’ve just arrived in Madrid or have been living here for decades, you will surely profit in some way from checking out this fair. It is designed to enrich the lifestyle of all expats in Madrid, regardless of their experience here. Madrid’s Expat and International Community are certainly worth meeting.
