Gogol Bordello at La Riviera, Friday May 21st
In case you’ve never seen or heard of Gogol Bordello they are especially known for hectic concerts, antic theatrics, eclectic music and the all around anarchic atmosphere that follows wherever they go. Around for about a decade and officially made up of nine members who carry the standard instruments along with saxophones, accordions and violins, Gogol looks more like a group of travelling troubadours than a band. Accordingly, their music is a mixture of punk, dub, folk, gypsy music and rock, their style is usually labeled “gypsy punk”. Friday, May 21st, will be their night at the ample but personal venue La Riviera. Fans will likely not mind the 23 euros ticket, newcomers have a more difficult decision to make.
