We’ve compiled fun and unique date ideas for you to try out throughout Madrid’s neighborhoods. There are plenty of romantic venues to choose from and with a little planning, you can make your next date truly stand out from the rest. To book accommodation in any neighborhood click here.
Charmartin: Schedule a tour of the Santiago Bernabéu, or better yet-treat your date to a once in a lifetime experience of seeing a game at this amazing stadium. Then make some magic of your own at the Houdini Sala de Magia, possibly the only place dedicated to magic in all of Europe.
Chueca: They say oysters are great aphrodisiacs, right? Bottoms up! Ribeiro Do Miño has built a reputation as one of the best restaurants for seafood in Madrid. Then continue your date by dancing the night away at the Velvet Room.
Lavapiés: There is no better way to start a night then with the sunset in the background and a tasty drink in hand. We recommend the rooftop bar at Gaudeamus Café. Grab a table just before sunset to enjoy the spectacular view from the top.
La Latina– Sunday can be a great day for a date, especially in La Latina. Break from the usual dinner and bar theme and meet during the day to walk through the most famous market in Madrid, el Rastro.
Retiro: Feeling like something a bit more down to earth? Go with a classic option and enjoy a picnic in Retiro Park. You can pick up some sandwiches at nearby Harina bakery where they make fresh bread throughout the day.
Salamanca: Begin your date by having a glass of wine, or two. La Vinia offers thousands of different types of wines to suit all tastes and budgets. Also make sure to check out when they have scheduled wine tastings.
Sol: Take your date to one of the most talked about food venues in Madrid, Mercado de San Miguel. This market was a local favorite during the early 1920’s and was later left abandoned for many years. After much renovation, this market offers everything from local produce to all types of tapas served along with beer, cocktails and wine.
