Carey Mulligan and Peter Sarsgaard star in An Education

Directed by Lone Scherfig and starring Carey Mulligan, Peter Sarsgaard and Alfred Molina, “An Education” is a coming of age story and time capsule that takes us back to early sixties London. Jenny Mellor is a bright and obedient seventeen year old who has put all her energy into getting accepted to Oxford University. But then she meets David Goldman, a cultured and slick dressed man twice her age, who is bent on showing her a more thrilling side of life. Soon enough Jenny’s doubts aren’t only about whether she wants to continue the studious path her father has laid down for her, but also whether David and his friends really are who they seem. Nominated for best actress and best picture in this year’s Oscars, you can catch the film in its original version at Yelmo Cines Ideal and Cines Renoir.
