Don’t let the name fool ya. El
Café de las Estellas (Café of the Stars) isn’t the place of Hollywood
pomp. It does happen to be located in Plaza de
España, the cinema neighborhood, but, in spite of this, it maintains a humble
presence: relaxed and arty.

This small café sits beneath the street level, and, with “not-too-dark-not-too-bright”
lighting it welcomes anybody to sit down for a cup of coffee, tea or a chat
with a friend. If you are looking for something a little more potent than “tea
time”, the wide variety of imported beers might put a smile on your face.

On the walls, you’ll find paintings from local artists that enhance the
mood, some of which are for sale. You can go in for a pint and come out with a
painting – how’s that for culture!

Aside from the art, the music is very soothing as well; it consists
mostly of jazz tracks that always go smoothly with your favorite beverage. And,
if you are looking for a bit of food, they have you covered as well. Select a few tapas or a complete dinner.

This is a super chill place that we recommend, especially when you’re
waiting for your movie to start at any of the theaters that are just a few
meters away: Princesa, Golem or Renoir.
