Best Yoga Iyengar in Madrid
AEYI (Asociacion Espanola de Yoga Iyengar)
Calle Gran Via, 31
(34) 915 215 542,
The center follows the teachings of B.K.S Iyengar, which is dedicated to perfecting the alignment of all postures. Yoga Iyengar uses supports designed by B.K.S. Iyengar, wood blocks, belts and ropes to help students achieve difficult postures. There are many different AEYI yoga centers around Spain and Madrid; however, in the center of the city, close to hotels and wonderful shopping, is Estudio Yoga Gran Via. Although surrounded by the bustle of the city streets, the studio itself is quiet. Large enough for a maximum of twenty students, and frequented mostly by thirty somethings, the two teachers, Charo Chozas and Miguel Reyes, offer both group and private more personalized lessons. Many people choose this form of yoga because of its unique method and international credibility. The variety of supports helps students to realize difficult postures and allows them to experience the full benefits of each posture. The classes are for all levels, and are offered in both English and Spanish Monday through Friday. For more information on B.K.S Iyengar, click here.
