Best Cafes in Madrid: Lolina
Cafes are everywhere in Madrid but how many do you know where you can bring your computer and when the battery gets low you can plug in? To anyone who loves to work in cafes this is a great one. Not only can you plug in the power but you also get free wi-fi and the place is bright and happy. With vintage style tables and funky chairs in different shapes, sizes and colors you’ll feel inspired to get done what you needed to and probably stay for a while even after you’re finished. The décor is very ‘60s jumble sale’ and adds a quirk to the place, attracting a whole host of regulars and people walking by. The staff are super sweet and the overall vibe is light and airy during the day. It really is a perfect chillout space, especially for the (not-so-new) wave of laptop wielding folk, to come and enjoy a coffee and work / surf session.
Now I know you might be asking if it can get even better and, well, yes it can. They also serve food and cocktails! The ventresci encebollado (tuna with caramelized onion) is delicious, and complimented with one of the tasty salads or tostas makes for a great food choice too. The mojitos are some of the best that I’ve tried, they have just the right mix of ingredients to make them dangerously drinkable. And with the relaxed surroundings you may fnd yourself sinking a titanic amount of minty iced rum before you know it! After dark there continues to be a gently bustling atmosphere,e but you can nearly always get a seat somewhere upstairs or down. So if you’re in the area, or even if you’re not, and you’re looking for a place to take a quick coffee, work for a few hours or enjoy a cocktail or two, then definitely check this place out.
