New Exhibition: Prado Museum

On Thursday, December 3rd, the Museo Nacional del Prado will be rolling out a new exhibition of Dutch Painters at the Prado museum. The highlight will be a work from Rembrandt entitled Judith at Holofernes’ Banquet. The exhibition opening will be presented in conjunction with a new addition to the museums Invited Works section.  For all the details head here.

Classical Music Madrid: Circulo de Bellas Artes

Calling all classical music lovers:  Israeli violinists Avri Levitan and Roi Shiloah will be at the Circulo de Bellas Artes this Thursday, December 3rd. Both violinists  will be participating in the upcoming Calahorra International Chamber Music Festival.  The presentation includes works from Mozart, Bach and Martinu. Madrid Movie Round-up

Last week the second installment of the uber-popular Twilight vampire saga, “New Moon” (Luna Nueva), landed at the V.O. houses in Madrid. Another movie that  is almost on DVD in the U.S. but finding its way into the cinema here is the romantic comedy “Away We Go” (Un Lugar Donde Quedarse). Also just out: “Amelia,”  the bio-pic about the life of Amelia Earhart, “Paranormal Activity,” the ultra-low budget horror flick that has audiences and critics on the edges of their seats,  “A Christmas Carol,” starring Jim Carrey, and also the indie romantic comedy “500 Days of Summer ,”starring Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Madrid After Party with The Sounds

If you can’t make it to The Sounds show on Saturday night, but want to party with them after, the Britpop club, Supersonic, will be hosting the official after party.  There will be a guest dj set from the Sounds as soon as they finish their show over at La Riviera.  The line-up will include other resident djs and promises to be a good time.
